ORIGIN Q&A + Giveaway!

It’s been a week since ORIGIN, book two in the Glory MC series, released and I have been thrilled by your responses so far! I love that you’re enjoying Lucky’s book as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. It was probably one of the more difficult books to write because I had to make a lot of tough decisions when it came to the worldbuilding. I’ve had some readers email me questions about the books and the world, so I decided that I will answer more of them here. So let’s get started!

Is ORIGIN a standalone?

No! None of the books in this series are standalones. I wrote them together and while each book features a different couple, the worldbuilding and club politics builds with each book. Therefore, you must read the books in order to understand them.

I heard that ORIGIN has a cliffhanger ending. Is this true?

Yes! But before you start crying about it, it doesn’t pertain to the romance or the couple. There is a solid HEA between the hero and heroine in ALL the books of this series. The cliffhanger simply sets up the conflict for the next book in the series and is more related to the club politics and Glory MC.

Also, I do want to mention that this is the only book in the series that will have a cliffhanger. All the others to come won’t have any. I see ORIGIN as “part one” of a story arc so that’s why it’s there.

I tried to avoid it because I know there are readers out there to severely dislike cliffhangers, but it didn’t work so in the end I had to change it. It was one of the more tougher decisions I had to make about the book.

Who’s book is next?

Well, if you read ORIGIN, I think it’s pretty obvious who gets the next book. The title will be NIRVANA and it will be Kitt’s book. You’ll meet his heroine in ORIGIN.

What is Dystopian?

Ah, this is the question that I get asked the most. Dystopian is a genre of books and its most defining characteristic is the setting. It’s a completely new or imagined setting that is often unpleasant or environmentally degraded. Mine is the latter. With the presence of the solar flares, electricity comes and goes and this has only been happening for the last six years, which means that a lot of the current world is still in tact. However, larger things like the government and the like have suffered. In its place, Glory MC has risen and they are, in simpler terms, the new form of government.

No two Dystopian worlds are alike and I loved being able to play around with this genre. A reader once asked me, how come Glory MC have electricity and must pay for gas? Why wouldn’t they? Dystopian doesn’t mean desecration. It simply means the character must learn to live in another setting.

What makes your bikers different to other bikers?

My bikers are different because they aren’t simply bikers. They are Ward leaders. What are Ward leaders you ask? Well, when the solar flares started six years ago, the world started to change. As societies began to fall, people weren’t able to rebuild themselves quick enough. Think of Hurricane Katrina for example. It took YEARS for the victims to recover. Now imagine that happening again and again, without any way for anyone to predict when another solar flare will occur.

Cities and the government fell but people were still looking for someone to rule them and to guide them. Because of how strong Glory MC were in numbers and loyalty, they were appointed as the Ward leaders. There are seven Wards in total, and Glory MC rules Ward Four. Each Ward specializing in something different. You’ll get to see more of this in the next few books.

So my bikers are much more structured and have different duties and responsibilities than just a regular MC member in a Contemporary setting. They have the extra weight of an entire Ward counting on them, so they have to consider their actions more heavily than others.

How many books are going to be in the series?

There will be five books in the series with the possibility of a sixth one if readers want a book for another character. I won’t mention who that character is right now because that would be spoilery but feel free to email me when you find out who I’m actually referring to 😉
